We currently have an opportunity for a Research Assistant to be a part of the Deakin Marine Mapping team within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences. The Research Assistant reports to an Associate Professor in Marine Science (Deakin's Recipient Representative) for Coastal Erosion and Biodiversity Assessment projects. The role will work closely with academic staff associated with the Victorian Coastal Monitoring Program, from both Deakin University and the University of Melbourne. The position builds and maintains effective relationships internally and with external partners, particularly the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and Parks Victoria.
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant is to provide support for data acquisition, processing, data management and reporting for Coastal Erosion and Biodiversity Assessments in Victoria. This position will also provide assistance to research projects undertaken by the Deakin Marine Mapping group, including maintenance of mapping and underwater video equipment.
