Kwodjet Goorliny Symposium: Moving forward together to care for Country

The University of Western Australia

We are very excited to announce our upcoming symposium The Kwodjet Goorliny Symposium: Moving forward together to care for Country.

This symposium is showcasing the culmination of the Walking Together Project, exploring the latest developments in cross-cultural conservation, and involves opportunities to be immersed in Country with Merningar/Menang/Goreng Elders, and yarn up the next steps for cross-cultural collaboration. With growing need and demand for genuine cross-cultural approaches to care for Country, this symposium offers an amazing opportunity to come together to learn from one another and celebrate the good work that we all do in this space.

The symposium will include:

  • Conference style presentations.
  • A field trip highlighting some of the Walking Together projects: a chance to see beautiful Merningar/Menang Boodjar and learn from Merningar/Menang/Goreng Elders and family members.
  • A workshop yarning up where next for cross-cultural conservation work.
  • Delicious morning/ afternoon teas and lunches.
  • A three-course symposium dinner (optional extra).

14th-16th May 2024.

Centennial Park Function Centre, Albany, WA 6330.
