The West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority works with communities, industries and government agencies to protect and enhance the condition of the region’s natural resource assets. Our region extends from Warragul to the Gippsland Lakes, and from the Great Dividing Range to Wilsons Prom and Bass Strait. We’re currently looking for a passionate and highly motivated Project Officer with excellent community engagement skills to join our team.

The Partnerships & Engagement Project Officer will work with government and non-government agencies and community groups to support the achievement of the objectives of the Regional Catchment Strategy and Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) projects, as well as play a key role in the WGCMA Community Engagement Network.

This role includes developing and presenting communication material, building skills and capacity for increased community understanding and participation and would suit a person who has skills in budget development and management, contract and relationship management and an understanding of rural and regional communities (including indigenous). An understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of issues related to natural resource management, proven project management experience, and a demonstrated ability to design and conduct effective community engagement.
