NGH is seeking Environmental Consultants location negotiable, we have offices in Wodonga VIC, Canberra ACT, SE Queensland, Newcastle, Sydney, Bega & Wagga Wagga NSW. 

You will have a minimum 3 years’ experience in either environmental impact assessment or environmental management work in Australia. You will have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Natural Resources Management and project management experience. 

You will project manage environmental impact assessment and environmental management projects including authorship of these assessments and will work on a variety of projects, including renewable energy (solar and wind), road and rail infrastructure, water delivery infrastructure and urban development.

You will work closely with discipline experts, complete site assessments, prepare reports and liaise with clients on projects. You will use your technical skills and ethics to deliver a high standard of work. You will use legislation, policy and science to justify your decisions.

This position requires a dedicated professional to join our team. You will show initiative and work independently. You will have access to Directors and senior managers for support and guidance. You will complete field work and travel to project sites as needed.

Main Duties

  • Prepare environmental impact assessments for State and Federal legislation 
  • Prepare environmental management documents such as CEMPs 
  • Participate in project teams with ecologists, archaeologists, and sub-consultants
  • Manage team projects within cost, time and quality objectives 
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders
  • Participate in, discuss and cooperate with WHS actions and directions

Selection Criteria

Please address the following criteria in your application:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management
  • Demonstrated Australian experience (min 3 years) in environmental impact assessment or management 
  • Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of NSW and Federal environmental legislation and policy, as it relates to impact assessment and environmental management 
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Current Drivers licence
