Australian Ecosystems is currently looking to employ a Landscape Estimator. This position will provide the opportunity to work on a wide range of innovative, large scale, sustainable landscapes for a wide range of clients. Australian Ecosystems (AE) is an award-winning landscaping company, servicing a wide range of clients across the Greater Melbourne region over the past 20 years, including Tier 1 contractors working on infrastructure projects, as well as developers, landscape architects, government bodies, schools, and private clients.

Our current projects range from $100k through to multimillion-dollar projects. As well as being part of a great team, the successful candidate will also benefit from our company's commitment to staff development, with the opportunity to receive further training in relevant areas of interest to further develop your skillset.

Key duties;

  • Careful and competent pricing to allow for the delivery of profit across all projects and cross check of 100% of all tenders for accuracy to eliminate errors
  • Cohesive working relationships with all other key staff, including project management, estimating, construction site supervisors, administration, nursery and maintenance managers and staff
  • Successful handover of awarded projects to Project Managers
  • Assist in building and maintaining an active tender schedule

Important qualities for successful execution of the position include;

  • Hands on practical understanding and experience in estimating, project management, scheduling, and on ground implementation of landscape works
  • Honesty, self-motivation, the ability to work independently and a solid work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork and negotiation skills and experience and ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Current drivers licence
  • Competency in Outlook, Excel, Word, CAD/Planswift etc
  • Experience in pricing and estimating of large landscape and civil projects, including landscape installation, pits, pipes, earthworks, irrigation, concreting and drainage works
