Are you an experienced field leader who enjoys working in remote landscapes, leading small teams and delivering practical conservation outcomes?
As the second-in-charge of the Clermont Work Unit, you will support the Ranger in Charge to plan, coordinate and deliver annual work programs across national parks, conservation parks and State forests in the Clermont-Belyando region, including Epping Forest National Park (Scientific), home of the northern hairy-nosed wombat.
This is a diverse, hands-on role combining leadership, field operations and project delivery. You will contribute to fire, pest, visitor and asset management, threatened species conservation, compliance activities, and the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. You will also work closely with Traditional Owners, neighbouring landholders, contractors, volunteers and government agencies.
No two days are the same. You may be supervising staff, planning projects and managing resources, or undertaking field-based work such as patrols, fire operations and emergency response.
Working in semi-remote and remote locations requires adaptability, sound judgement and the ability to think on your feet. The role involves regular travel, camping, physically demanding work and periods of working alone in isolated locations.

Accommodation in Clermont may be negotiated.
