Yawoorroong Miriuwung Gajerrong Yirrgeb Noong Dawang Aboriginal Corporation (MG Corporation) was established in 2006 to receive and manage the benefits transferred under the OFA to the MG People, who are recognised under Australian law as holding Native Title over large areas in the North of Western Australia’s east Kimberley region.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role where you will be identifying and securing new business opportunities, while also establishing professional relationships through your existing networks across government and the agricultural and pastoral sectors to drive the overall growth strategy of the Corporation. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop commercial agricultural businesses for MG Corporation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to map new business opportunities in line with MG strategic plan.
  • Proactively seek grant and funding opportunities to progress MG commercial goals
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and stakeholder feedback to refine strategies.
  • Address board concerns in a timely, efficient, and professional manner 
  • Create and maintain detailed records of stakeholder interactions and transactions as well as utilise MG communication networks to inform and report. 
  • Manage agricultural lease contracts
  • Negotiate and manage Joint Ventures from negotiation to finalisation.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals and presentations to the board.

 Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Agriculture or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and represent Native Title land holders to achieve commercial outcomes
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or a related role.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong drive to achieve targets.
  • Experience in the industries of Agriculture and Pastural sectors and government relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Check
