Landcare Tasmania is the peak body that represents, supports, strengthens and grows the community Landcare movement in Tasmania. With more than 250 member groups, plus individual and associate members, we support over 7,000 volunteers to maintain and improve the health of Tasmania’s natural and working landscapes.

We work closely with the community, government bodies, businesses, educational institutions and other environmental organisations to achieve environmental and sustainability outcomes for Tasmania. Primary Purpose

The Education Coordinator plays a key leadership role in developing and delivering Landcare Tasmania’s environmental education programs. This position is responsible for coordinating school-based workshops, excursions, and curriculum-aligned resources to promote environmental awareness and stewardship among young people. The role works closely with the Landcare Tasmania team and external stakeholders to ensure quality delivery of educational activities that align with strategic goals.

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role involving education delivery, project coordination and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience delivering education programs, workshops or community engagement activities
  • Experience working with children and/or school groups

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Tertiary qualification in education, environmental science or a related field - desirable
  • Registration to Work with Vulnerable People - required
  • Current Australian driver’s licence - required
  • Willingness to travel statewide, including overnight - required
  • First Aid certificate - desirable
  • Knowledge of the Tasmanian education curriculum - desirable
