The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority whose role is to work with and support natural resource management agencies, Traditional Owners and local communities to improve sustainable land use, biodiversity and water resources management extending from Ballarat south through the Western District Lakes and Victorian Volcanic Plains including Colac and Geelong, through the Otway Ranges to the coast along the Great Ocean Road.

About the opportunity

The Project Officer - Biodiversity contributes to the development and implementation of designated components of the biodiversity program of work, with a primary focus on Ramsar conservation projects.

The role also contributes to a range of other biodiversity projects in the areas of threatened species, native vegetation, environmental water, biodiversity focused NRM projects, and pest plant and animals; to support the implementation of the Corangamite Regional Catchment Strategy and relevant sub-strategies and plans.

The role is offered part-time (0.6 FTE), and we offer flexible work arrangements and support working from home in combination with working from our main office in Colac and secondary office in Geelong.

Remuneration for the role is $87,326 – $99,611 per annum pro rata depending on experience plus superannuation.

About you

  • Experience working with communities in natural resource management, environmental management, agriculture or community engagement and a relevant diploma or degree qualification or significant relevant experience.
  • Strong project delivery knowledge and skills and implementation capabilities.
  • Understanding and awareness of monitoring, evaluation and learning processes as part of the project management cycle.
  • High level interpersonal, engagement and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare professional business correspondence and reports with attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive organisation culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to model the CCMA’s Approach and the Victorian Public Sector values and behaviours.
  • Current Victorian drivers licence.
