Merton Environmental is a Melbourne-based environmental consulting firm delivering specialist services across regulatory compliance, waste management, and spatial data analysis. We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our small, highly capable team.

The Role

This is a hands-on project delivery role with responsibility across a portfolio of waste management and compliance engagements. You will produce GIS mapping products, manage environmental datasets, support regulatory reporting, and contribute to projects involving both domestic and international waste movement obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GIS datasets and produce spatial analysis outputs for client and regulatory purposes
• Manage compliance and enforcement documentation across solid waste and hazardous materials projects
• Support clients in meeting obligations under Australian and international waste movement frameworks
• Prepare technical reports, engineering plan reviews, and regulatory submissions
• Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and clients across project lifecycles

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of relevant environmental experience (government, consulting, or regulatory - international experience welcomed)
• Demonstrated GIS proficiency (ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with solid waste regulation and/or hazardous materials compliance
• Strong data management and reporting skills
• Proficiency in a second language desirable; Spanish preferred
• Relevant tertiary qualification (Environmental Science, Geography, or related field)
