The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Botanist to deliver trusted botanical advice across a diverse portfolio of ecological projects. This field-focused role involves leading botanical surveys across WA (including remote locations), delivering ecological assessments and monitoring programs, preparing technical reports, and supporting business growth and team development. Our office location is in Osborne Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage and lead botanical field surveys and vegetation assessments
- Conduct ecological assessments, monitoring programs and prepare technical reports
- Provide technical input to impact assessments and regulatory submissions
- Engage with agencies, stakeholders and clients; manage project budgets and timelines
- Lead, mentor and guide junior staff and field teams
- Develop and improve standards, procedures and best-practice approaches
- Contribute to strategic solutions and business development activities
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Botany, Environmental Biology, Ecology or related field
- 5+ years’ experience undertaking botanical and ecological assessments in WA
- Strong experience in survey design, leading botanical surveys and project delivery
- Excellent, accurate report-writing and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines (EPBC Act, EP Act WA, BC Act WA and WA agency guidance)
- Willingness and passion for fieldwork, including remote location campaigns
- GIS skills highly desirable
- Current WA C Class driver’s licence
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, strong team player and leader
