POSITION LOCATION: 235 Victoria Street, Cardwell, Queensland

PART-TIME: 22 hours/week

HOURLY RATE:  $30 - $38 / hour (fixed-term contract until 31 August 2026) plus super + salary sacrifice available). The position is subject to a three (3) month probationary period and performance review.

Girringun Aboriginal Corporation is a community-controlled organisation representing Traditional Owner groups in the Girringun Region. The organisation works to protect, promote, and manage cultural heritage, land and sea country, and to support strong, healthy, and resilient communities.

Position Summary

The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering Girringun Aboriginal Corporation’s upcoming major celebration and milestone events being the Girringun 30 Year Celebration event and the Opening Ceremony for the Girringun Ranger Base at Dungeness.

The role focuses on organising large-scale, high-profile cultural and community celebrations that recognise important achievements, anniversaries, and milestones. The position ensures events are culturallyrespectful, well-managed, safe, and memorable for community members, partners, and stakeholders.

This role works closely with Traditional Owners, Elders, staff, and partners to showcase Girringun’s history, culture, and future.
