At the Central Tablelands Regional Landcare Network, we are a collective of passionate environmental and community champions, operating across the vibrant regions of Mudgee, Cumnock-Yeoval, Cowra-Canowindra, Orange-Bathurst, and Lithgow-Oberon. Our network is a proud consortium of five Landcare Networks, embracing over 60 community and environmental groups, powered by the dedication of more than 2000 volunteers. Our work spans diverse activities, from grazing management and scientific exploration with microscopes to the execution of capacity-building events and on-ground environmental projects.

About the role:

This position is part time (0.5 FTE) in a work from home, job share arrangement. It is funded under the NSW Landcare Enabling Program, a collaboration of Local Land Services and Landcare NSW, supported by the NSW Government. The program will run until 30 June 2027.

The Regional Landcare Coordinator will work with the Regional Administrative Support Officer, Landcare Groups, Local Landcare Coordinators, and organisations in the region by:

  • Supporting and facilitating the delivery of on-ground projects that care for the local natural environment and agricultural systems.
  • Strengthening the capacity of Landcarers by further developing their knowledge and skills.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration and partnerships between Landcare groups, Local Land Services, other government agencies and Landcare NSW.
  • Leveraging funding opportunities to maximise socio-environmental outcomes.
  • Being Landcare’s Voice in Central Tablelands by representing and advocating for our members' interests and needs in the region.
  • Enhancing and promoting regional communications and supporting Local Landcare coordinators effectively.
  • Maintaining Landcare’s enduring presence in the region and plan for future leadership to continue our mission effectively.
  • Developing and supporting impactful Landcare initiatives to benefit the environment and community. 

About you:

  • Strong interest in, and commitment to, local environmental and agricultural land management issues
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to liaise and engage with a broad range of people effectively and maintain relationships
  • Strong time management and work efficiency skills
  • Proactive, with a community minded attitude
  • Experience in grant writing for successful outcomes
  • Excellent networking and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound coordination, administration, and computer skills
  • Strong leadership skills including mentoring, facilitation, strategic planning
  • Sound project management skills
  • Flexible about their working hours over the period of employment
  • Willing and able to travel extensively over the region
  • A current driver’s licence.
