About the Role

This role suits someone who can lead with confidence, navigate complexity, and turn plans into action.

This fixed-term maternity relief position (until December 2026) is a hands-on leadership opportunity to drive Council’s rural land services and programs, delivering practical, on-the-ground outcomes that support the Maranoa’s rural industries.

You’ll lead people, programs and partnerships across a large and diverse region, translating strategy into action and making a real difference for local landholders, industries, and the community.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You will lead and coordinate Council’s rural land functions, including:

  • Managing Council’s stock route network and statutory obligations
  • Overseeing weed and pest management programs across the region
  • Identifying, securing and managing funding and grant-funded projects
  • Coordinating strategic and operational rural lands programs through RLO meetings and cross-directorate collaboration
  • Stakeholder engagement and regional partnerships to improve rural land management outcomes
