The Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis Program seeks to integrate the science and application of remote sensing and spatial analysis into departmental programs.
The efficient use and analysis of spatial data is crucial for the understanding of natural processes and to inform management actions across the large tracts of terrestrial and marine conservation parks and reserves that the department manages. The program develops sophisticated statistical analysis, interpretative and automation techniques to synthesise spatial data into a form where it directly assists departmental staff.
We are currently seeking a Research Officer (Geospatial Science) to join our team.
Under the direction of the Senior Research Officer (Geospatial Analysis), undertakes research and analysis of geographic resource information in support of biodiversity science and conservation management.
Assists with the research and planning of spatial analysis and modelling projects and advises on the application of spatial analysis in meeting departmental objectives in fire science.
Assists in the investigation and research into techniques using remote sensing in fire science.
