Redleaf Group is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Graduate Archaeologist to join our team in Toowoomba.  This is a balanced role that combines hands-on field work with desktop-based analysis and reporting, offering a strong foundation for your professional development in cultural heritage consulting.

About the Role

As a Graduate Archaeologist, you will play a vital role in supporting our cultural heritage team.  Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with archaeological field surveys and excavations across regional and remote areas.
  • Recording artefacts accurately, including notes, GPS data, and sketches.
  • Analysing field data and contributing to high quality technical reports.
  • Using GIS and Microsoft Office tools for mapping and documentation.
  • Engaging respectfully with Traditional Owner groups during consultations.
  • Participating in training, meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and WHS compliance at all times.

The Role Requires.

  • Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Availability to undertake fieldwork in remote locations.
  • Flexibility to work away from home for extended periods.

About You.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or a related field (Honours preferred).
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and GIS software (Graduate Level)
  • Valid Class C Driver's Licence and current First Aid Certificate.
  • Organisational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
