Are you passionate about community engagement and fostering collaboration to improve landscape management? Do you have the skills and experience to support and lead initiatives that inspire and motivate stakeholders? We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Project Officer Community Engagement to join our dynamic team.

As the Project Officer Community Engagement, you will:

  • Support the Communications and Engagement team, alongside other staff, to plan, initiate, and deliver community engagement activities designed to engage and motivate local stakeholders.
  • Implement innovative approaches to community engagement, encouraging collaboration and participation in landscape management within the community.
  • Work closely with regional volunteers and community groups, ensuring that volunteers are recognised, supported, and empowered to work effectively and safely.
  • Foster and maintain effective communication and working relationships with local and state government agencies, the broader community, and other key stakeholders.
  • Undertake and maintain various administration and reporting functions to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe workplace by taking responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others, identifying hazards, and actively participating in health and safety consultations.

  • Experience in Community Engagement: Previous experience in planning, promoting, and delivering community engagement projects, programs, and events.
  • Knowledge of Community Engagement Best Practices: An understanding of the principles of community engagement and how to apply them effectively.
  • Project Administration: Experience with project administration, including records management and reporting.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • A broad understanding of volunteer-related legislation, including workplace health and safety principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific or complex information and translate it into accessible material for community-based audiences.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities is highly desirable.

Contract: Contract for up to 3 years.

Remuneration: CLASSIFICATION ASO4 $76,561 min - $80,256 max p.a.
