Role Description

We are seeking a Fauna Spotter Catcher with previous experience and the ability to work DIDO and locally on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. As a Fauna Spotter Catcher, you will be responsible for pre-clearance habitat and fauna surveys, animal breeding place surveys, onsite fauna detection, catching, identification, and relocation, dewatering and aquatic fauna management, native bee hive relocation, and data recording.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience undertaking Fauna Spotter Catcher work.
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Drivers Licence.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Venomous Snake Handling Certificate.
  • Lyssavirus vaccinated (or willing to obtain).
  • Confident fauna handling and ID skills.
  • Confident and competent in handling and relocating fauna.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-managed, self-motivated, work autonomously as well as in a team environment and have a strong work ethic.
  • Practical knowledge of work health and safety policies and procedures.

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Animal Ecology, Zoology or other related discipline.
  • Fauna Handling Certificate.
  • 4WD Certificate.
  • ISI Gas induction .
  • Standard 11 generic induction.
  • QLD coal board medical.
  • Cat 3 rail medical.
