Who are we looking for?

Our Environment Group for ACT & Southern NSW is dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions for major projects, including in renewable energy, transport, defence, water and other various environmental projects.

We are seeking a Technical Director to be the driving force behind the development and continued growth of our team’s capabilities in Environmental Impact Assessment. As a technical leader, you will deliver innovative solutions and high-quality projects for our clients, and build upon and strengthen commercial awareness. 

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

  • Providing technical leadership, client management, and project delivery for complex environmental impact assessment and approvals projects across ACT & southern NSW.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams by designing and co-ordinating studies and environmental assessments
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with our clients, regulatory agencies and key stakeholders to encourage collaborative engagement to support successful outcomes       
  • Business planning and strategic decision-making, while seeking out new project opportunities, preparing proposals and converting leads into new business.
  • Preparing technical reports, and growing our team’s technical capability through mentoring and technical reviews

What you will bring to the team

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental related studies (such as Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or Urban Planning) 
  • Over 10 years of professional experience in a consulting environment.
  • Expertise in setting strategy, design, co-ordination and management of environmental impact assessment studies and regulatory approvals applications
  • Strong knowledge of NSW and/or ACT and Commonwealth environmental legislation and or planning policy
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects, business development, networking and client relationship management
