Toolijooa Nursery specialises in the collection & propagation of provenance native seed & cuttings throughout the Sydney Basin & beyond.

We are looking to employ a Nursery Tradesperson who will be responsible for tasks including propagule collection, propagation, stock control, stock maintenance including pest and disease control and act as support to the Nursery Manager, Production Manager and the Leading Hand.

About the Role:

As a Nursery Tradesperson, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery. This hands-on role involves plant production, maintenance, and general nursery operations, contributing to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out plant propagation, potting, pruning, and general plant care.
• Assist in the supervision of nursery hands.
• Monitor plant health, including pest and disease identification and treatment.
• Operate and maintain nursery equipment and tools.
• Assist in irrigation setup and maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the nursery.
• Support inventory management and stock control.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet production targets.

About You:

• Experience in nursery operations, horticulture, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge of plant care and maintenance.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform physical tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely operate machinery and tools.
• Relevant qualifications in horticulture (preferred but not essential).

To be considered for this role you will ideally meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of 2 years nursery experience.
• Cert 3 in Horticulture or equivalent.
• A genuine interest in horticulture.
• 5 day a week availability.
