Karratha is one of the largest and fastest growing towns in the north of Western Australia and is the heart of the West Pilbara Coast. Its location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Millstream Chichester National Park, Karijini National Park, Murujuga National Park, Dampier Archipelago, Point Samson and the Montebello Islands.

We currently have an opportunity for a Conservation Officer - Fortescue Marsh to join our team.

At an experienced professional level and under general supervision from the Regional Leader Conservation, you will:

  • Develop and implement the joint management plan and annual works programs for the Fortescue Marsh Nature Reserve, including pest plant and animal control, monitoring programs, threatened fauna conservation, fire management and visitor management under the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984 and the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
  • Provide advice on environmental impacts of development proposals within and adjacent to the Fortescue Marsh Nature Reserve (excluding Audit functions).
  • Participate in planning and implementing the Pilbara conservation program.
