The Opportunity
As a member of the Natural Assets Team, reporting to the Senior Pest and Rehabilitation Officer, you will undertake activities aimed at protecting and enhancing the unique environment that is the Hinchinbrook Shire.
If you are seeking diversity in your work and working outdoors, this role could be for you. On any given day, you could be undertaking a range of tasks such as planting and maintaining native vegetation, removing invasive species, stabilising riverbanks to prevent erosion and data collection in order to restore and preserve the health of buffer zones and coastal waterways in our district. You will possess good communication skills as a key aspect of the role may be engaging with landholders and agency field staff.
This is a fixed term role which presents an ideal opportunity for someone to continue, advance or commence their career in a supportive Local Government work environment, undertaking activities that will benefit the environment and community.

General Salary Information
Level 2 + District + Construction $70,168 per annum plus superannuation. $37.22 per hour.
Pre-employment Screening
Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to safely and competently carry out strenuous labouring and manual handling activities. The position will require the employee to carry out physical tasks which may include manual handling, repetitive bending, kneeling, twisting and/or squatting, lifting, working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
