ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to make a difference in the environmental sector? We're looking for a Graduate to Junior-level Environmental Planner to join our team in Newcastle. Our Newcastle Office is full of friendly, approachable experts and is a stone's throw from Newcastle Beach along historic Watt Street. Here, you'll work alongside experienced consultants on meaningful projects that help shape a sustainable future.

In this role, you'll contribute to environmental projects across sectors like land development, renewable energy, and infrastructure. From supporting environmental impact assessments to drafting reports and liaising with stakeholders, you'll gain hands-on experience in a variety of project stages. As part of our broader NSW and ACT planning team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a range of projects for diverse clients.

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • A degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience, such as through internships, work placements, or entry-level roles.
  • An awareness or basic understanding of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Can-do attitude and self-starter initiative with good time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A sound working knowledge and practical experience using MS Office.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, and a passion for environmental management.
  • Current manual drivers licence.
