Corangamite Shire Council is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as the Manager Environment and Emergency. This is your opportunity to work in a stunning region known for its natural beauty and strong community spirit.

What you will do:

As the Manager Environment and Emergency, you will report to the Director Sustainable Development and be responsible for the management, leadership, strategic development and delivery of Council’s environment and emergency services including oversight of the climate change and emissions reduction action plan, emergency management and fire prevention, local laws and animal management, school crossing supervision, waste collection and management, Regional Landfill and transfer stations.

What you can bring:

  • A relevant qualification in environmental management, waste management or emergency management is desirable and several years relevant experience, or extensive relevant experience.
  • High level communication and report writing skills with a willingness to achieve set goals within deadlines.
  • Specialist knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to Department programs, services, and operations.
  • An ability to implement Council’s policies and strategies to achieve long-term goals.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to changing market and industry conditions.
  • Project management skills and experience highly desirable.
  • A Victorian Drivers licence, and recent national police check, or willingness to obtain
