Girringun Aboriginal Corporation are currently seeking applications to fill the following position:

• Girringun Aboriginal Ranger (Cardwell).
• Full time 38 hours per week.

The Girringun Aboriginal Rangers (GAR) are a dynamic team of Indigenous men and women working and managing the cultural and biodiversity values of land and sea country within the Girringun Region Indigenous Protected Areas (GRIPA). Under the supervision of the GAR Coordinator's this position will support the GAR Team to deliver Caring for Country, Land, Sea and Cultural Management activities.

This position will communicate regularly with GAR Coordinator's, GAR Supervisors, other Girringun Coordinators and Traditional Owners. The successful candidate will be required to show respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture and Traditional Owner's protocols. 

Girringun Aboriginal Ranger (Cardwell): Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational qualification for this role under Section 25 of the QLD Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.

It is preferred that the applicant have traditional connections to the Girringun Region; being a descendant of and identifying as a member of one of the following nine (9) Traditional Owner groups:

1. Bandjin.
2. Djiru.
3. Girramay.
4. Gugu Badhun.
5. Gulngay.
6. Jirrbal.
7. Nywaigi.
8. Warrgamay.
9. Warrungnu.
