The opportunity:

As a Regional Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects across Queensland while leading and mentoring a team of skilled consultants.

This role offers a chance to combine your expertise in project management, client engagement, and team leadership, ensuring that projects are delivered seamlessly and exceed client expectations.

You’ll take a hands-on approach to project resourcing, team utilisation, and budget management, contributing to the region's revenue through direct client work.

As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll foster open communication, provide guidance, and support your team’s professional growth—all while driving commercial success and advancing our strategic goals.

Any day may see you:

  • Lead strategic growth initiatives as part of the State Growth Team, driving business development and enhancing client relationships to expand the project pipeline.
  • Oversee and at times lead project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations, timelines, and budgets.
  • Design and lead surveys teams in complex marine environments to assess a broad range of environmental factors.
  • Review and ensure the quality and accuracy of reports, aligning deliverables with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a primary client liaison, managing communication and addressing client needs to build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Coordinate team resourcing for optimal project delivery and provide ongoing training and development to support team capabilities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering feedback and guidance to align team performance with organisational goals.

What we're looking for:

Candidates will need a degree in an ecological discipline and a track record in aquatic ecological surveying and assessment, preferably gained from within an environmental consultancy. With excellent organisational capabilities, you will have:

  • Passionate about leading teams
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marine or Freshwater Ecology / Biology, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Ecology or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of aquatic flora and fauna in eastern Australia.
  • Coxswains / Marine driving license.
  • Qualifications and experience in scientific diving (or equivalent)
  • Expert knowledge of state and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy.
  • Demonstrated experience with GIS.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Manual drivers' license.
