The Business

Ranger group performing land and sea management within an Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) 

The Opportunity

To coordinate and facilitate the development of the Rangers, and support the General Manager to develop a new IPA. This includes supporting IPA consultations and planning, translating the Healthy Country Plan into action, implementing participatory strategic planning processes, and ensuring the training and mentoring of rangers to develop a strong, professional, skilled and highly effective Ranger team. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:

• Have a relevant tertiary qualification in natural resource management or relevant work experience 
• Have experience in project management 
• Are competent in community engagement, with a wide range of external stakeholders, can consult with Indigenous Traditional Owners, can train, mentor and empower Indigenous Rangers
• Have a positive attitude and can motivate others
• Have good administration skills 
• Are a team player but can also work independently
• Have mechanical ability 
• Experience mapping GIS
• Hold a current valid driver’s license, capability and experience operating a manual 4WD in remote off-road conditions
• Hold a current first aid certificate or ability to obtain one
• Hold a Working with Children’s Check (WCC) or ability to obtain one
• Coxswains Certificate (desirable)
