We are looking for a Biosecurity Officer to join our high performing Invasive Plants and Animals team with Biosecurity Queensland.

Biosecurity Queensland leads the government’s efforts to protect our way of life, environment, biodiversity, human and animal health, industries and economy from plant and animal pests and diseases. We support capability and capacity development in prevention and preparedness in the evolving biosecurity domain. We lead efforts to enshrine high standards of animal welfare, maintain access to interstate markets for agricultural produce and regulate the use of agriculture and veterinary chemicals.

Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health, and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates, and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.

As our biosecurity officer, you will provide operational services that protect Queensland’s biosecurity. With Queensland being affected by more biosecurity incursions than any other Australian state or territory, your efforts will be integral in helping the government prevent, respond to, and recover from biosecurity concerns that threaten our environment and economy.
