Judbarra / Gregory National Park features spectacular range and gorge scenery and significant traces of Aboriginal culture, European exploration and pastoral history. The Ngarinyman, Karrangpurru, Nungali, Malngin, Wardaman, Ngaliwurru and Bilinara, Aboriginal people are the traditional owners and joint managers of this land. The Park covers a huge area (13,000 km2) in the transition zone between tropical and semi-arid regions of the Northern Territory. Everything in this part of the Victoria River District is big, including the barramundi, saltwater crocodiles, the landscape and challenges on the many four-wheel drive (4WD) tracks through the park.

As a Senior Park Ranger (T3R), working from Timber Creek, your core focus will be to support the Chief District Ranger and District Manager to manage teams to develop and deliver land management, nature conservation and visitor activities and facilities management to support the delivery of targeted, high quality park management outcomes, and provide support for Aboriginal and other stakeholder partnerships.

It is essential you have demonstrated significant relevant experience in a field of technical work closely related to the duties of the vacancy, or a relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institution, or equivalent. Well-developed communication skills and the ability interact positively with staff, visitors and volunteers is a key component of the job, together with a solid understanding of natural and cultural resource management.
