About the role
The role will assist in implementing project activities and mentoring and supervising field staff under the direction of the On Country Coordinator. These activities will include workshop delivery, planning and implementing project activities with landholders and other stakeholders. Project activities will include cultural burning, cultural heritage management, ecological restoration, catchment management, community engagement, threatened species management and monitoring work. The Senior Ranger role to be awarded to staff with specialist caring for country experience, while Team Leader roles will be awarded to staff with supervision and team leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of project activities under the supervision of the On Country Coordinator.
- Provide assistance with the running community workshops delivered as a component of project activities.
- Provide supervision and mentoring of the Ranger team in field activities, under the direction of the On Country Coordinator.
- Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the safe and successful delivery of project activities.
- Assist in the planning and implementing of Burn site assessments and property plans.
- Undertake fee for service opportunities to support the future growth of Jagun Alliance.
- Undertake other duties requested by the On Country Coordinator.
- Undertake community engagement activities as assigned by the On Country Coordinator.
- Support with project work activities as assigned by the On Country Coordinator.
- Engage with opportunities for specialisation as identified in annual work plan.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated on-ground implementation skills and ability to carry out field-based activities where required.
- This job will require a reasonable level of fitness and willingness to stay overnight in remote locations on occasion.
