- Report: On Country Coordinator
Role Description
The role will assist in implementing project activities under the supervision of the Operations Manager. These activities will include workshop delivery, planning and implementing project activities with landholders and other stakeholders. Project activities will include cultural burning, cultural heritage management, ecological restoration, catchment management, community engagement, threatened species management and monitoring work. Training in First Aid and Land Management will be provided as a part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of project activities under the supervision of the Operations Manager.
- Provide assistance with the running community workshops delivered as a component of project activities.
- Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the safe and successful delivery of project activities.
- Assist in the planning and implementing of Burn site assessments and property plans.
- Undertake fee for service opportunities to support the future growth of Jagun Alliance.
- Undertake other duties requested by the Operations Manager.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- This role is an identified Aboriginal role and therefore Aboriginality is a requirement of the job.
- Current drivers’ licence and Working with Childrens Check (Jagun Alliance can facilitate obtaining a WWCC).
- Willingness to obtain relevant training where required.
- A reasonable level of fitness and passion for caring for Country.
- Willingness to stay overnight in remote locations on occasion.
Desirable
- Ability to carry out land management work throughout the region including the use of chainsaws, fire units, tools and equipment.
- The ability to drive 4WD vehicles.
- Experience in land management work including bush regeneration and/or fire management.
- Experience in successfully delivering projects with local communities.
