About the position.
The Ranger position undertakes control/surveillance programs for invasive restricted and prohibited matter (pest weeds and pest animals) under the relevant legislation (not limited to the Queensland Biosecurity Act 2014), maintenance and repairs to pest barrier fencing, processing of wild dog bounties, and wild dog/fox baiting programs.
This position will work under remote supervision.
- The base wage rate for this position is $1,166.86 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- This is a Permanent Full time position based at Goombungee.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria.
- Hold the mandatory qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under the 'Success Criteria' in the Position Description (see below).
- The ability to perform a broad range of tasks requiring specialised industry skills as per position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain plant / machinery consistent with qualifications held / required to the principles of best practice and Council standards.
- Ability to perform physical labouring tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform tasks in an efficient and productive manner.
- Sound numeracy, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand directions and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate and timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
- Knowledge of electronic devices, such as computers and GIS mapping devices.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective member of a larger bushland management team in order to meet agreed performance and service standards, including:
- Experience working in natural areas including knowledge relevant to the management of visitor facilities, pests and fire.
- Ability to complete and record daily works neatly and correctly whilst under remote supervision.
- Understanding of and commitment to Council's Organisational Value and Behaviour of Teamwork.
