The Role

 The purpose of this role is to provide day-to-day leadership to a team of trade and operational staff to deliver a program of scheduled and reactive works in line with the Open Spaces & Recreational Operations department and other function across Council.

  • Providing strategic direction and hands-on supervision to a team of trainees and apprentices to ensure efficient performance of the team
  • Managing compliance onsite and conducting risk assessments, reporting of safety issues, hazards and risks
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards
  • Accurately recording all relevant information and review of timesheets
  •  A high level of customer service and escalating customer complaints where required.

About You

  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in leading and mentoring a team.
  • Must be physically fit and able to apply manual handling techniques.
  • High level interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff and members of the public.
  • HR Licence or willing to obtain during probation period.
  • Competent in using computer applications including Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Current WHS General Construction Induction (white) card, or willing to obtain on commencement of employment
