Job purpose:
The Bat Biologist/Ecologist Trainer will be part of a small team, contributing to the organisation in a virtual training role and assisting Sales with Customer calls & conferences to advise on choosing/using the right equipment for projects
This is a casual role 16-20 hours per week that can be split over 2-3 days with flexibility on the days and schedule. (Please note Team meetings currently occur on Monday and Friday mornings; hours may also increase to cover specialist Bat conferences).
Duties and responsibilities
Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Coordinate and assist with delivery of Faunatech’s virtual training:
- Create own courses tailored to Faunatech’s market, own skillset, and customer needs where relevant
- Deliver own Virtual Training courses
- Receive feedback(internal and external) and implement changes for improvement
- Respond to enquiries coming through Eventbrite about own courses (assisting others when necessary)
- Attend selected conferences where skillset is most applicable to conference topic:
- Work with Faunatech and the Wildlife Acoustics International team and conference organisers to coordinate on conferences within the Asia Pacific region.
- Attend conference, including interacting with people at the booth, attending sessions to learn more about topics and provide Faunatech presence, meeting conference attendees at the conference events.
- Encourage sign up to raffle
- Take customer details and interests, follow up with email post-event
- Typically, present a workshop highlighting Faunatech’s relevance to the subject matter and/or audience
- Assist customers in choosing/using their equipment (for makes and models that Faunatech supplies), when required: Conduct tailored customer training workshops
- Provide Specialist Customer assistance leveraging your knowledge of bats and bat acoustics.
- Maintain knowledge of all of the Faunatech products and their use in the field (will provide training).

- Practical experience and understanding of ecoacoustic technology preferred.
- Interest in conservation, wildlife and technology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Zoom and Google Suite.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or related field experience. Minimum 3 years Bat Biologist/Ecologist experience.
Working conditions
- Reports to: Business Development Director
- Work can be performed remotely or on site at our office in Rydalmere, NSW within an office environment, with standard office equipment available
