Title:
Ranger IPA Support Officer
Advertiser:
TMPAC - Mantjiljarra Yulparirra
Location:
Perth and Wiluna, WA
Mantjiljarra Yulparirra is an established, successful and highly-regarded Indigenous organisation and part of the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku AC, with work locations in Perth and Wiluna. It operates as an independent Indigenous company with its own Indigenous Board of Directors.
We work with Martu people of the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku region (the Native Title Determinations surrounding Wiluna) to help them develop strong, sustainable communities to connect them with their culture on Country, improve knowledge sharing to younger generations and with partners, and support Indigenous small business.
Mantjiljarra Yulparirra has a vacancy for a person to contribute to a team within the Ranger Program, supporting the Matuwa Kurrara Kurrara IPA (and National Park). This is an interesting and varied role to support community (Ranger) development but also to lead some trips on-Country.
This role is an integral part of the Ranger Program. The role would suit someone with good adult/youth teaching skills, an interest supporting Indigenous people, and an aptitude to work on-Country.
You will work as part of a dynamic and self-motivated team, and with an established group of Aboriginal Rangers. You will be organised, patient, efficient, adaptable and enjoy working with Indigenous people, building their capacity to support them leading trips. This role is part of an excellent working team where your contributions are valued. This is the perfect opportunity if you are seeking flexibility in a role that offers a change to your ‘normal’ lifestyle, and within a supported environment.
This is a full-time position with a 2-week roster (Week 1- Wiluna duties, Week 2 - Perth Office duties up to 4 days). Hours are flexible within this time frame. Some variation to times will occur if supporting trips on-Country. Normal super and leave allocations apply as per a contract.
