Perth NRM is a highly regarded for-purpose organisation in the natural resources management (NRM) sector. We collaborate with governments (federal, state and local), community, academics and the corporate sector to deliver solutions to environmental issues. Our purpose is to empower people to positive ecological impact. We do this through coordination and support of agriculture, coastal and landcare programs.

The Coastal and Marine Program Coordinator connects community, schools and businesses with the planning and delivery of on-ground projects that help to protect and regenerate dune and coastal ecosystems. Key to the Program Coordinator’s success is working closely with the Cities of Rockingham, Kwinana, Cockburn, Fremantle and the Town of Cottesloe, and the local coast care groups.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Technical knowledge and skills to coordinate coastal restoration projects, including knowledge of coastal processes, familiarity with coastal plant communities, and awareness of threats to coastal and marine ecosystems.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Adaptable communication skills across age groups, from giving instructions to school children to providing advice for our young-at-heart volunteers.
  • Excellent relationship building skills including the ability to gain the cooperation of others and work constructively as a team.
  • Good understanding of project outcome reporting, including monitoring and data collection and analysis.

This (1.0 FTE or negotiable) position is expected to start between November 2024 and January 2025 (depending on candidate availability) with flexible working arrangements, in a friendly, safe and progressive work environment.
