About the Role

As a Full-Time Environmental Works Team Leader, you will be responsible to provide assistance in the delivery of various high-quality environmental services.

You will be required to complete physically demanding manual work in the outdoors, and operate in a safe and effective team environment.

You will provide in field oversight of crew members, for delivery of Environmental works. As a dependable and productive leader, you will provide leadership and technical skills to ensure program and client outcomes are achieved safely, effectively, and efficiently

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience and capabilities working and leading field crews in Environmental, Conservation and Land Management and/or related sectors.
  • Diploma or Degree in Conservation and Land Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture or related disciplines and/or extensive equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications/ Licences: Current Victorian Manual Driver’s Licence, First Aid Level 2, White Card, ACUP, Chainsaw Ticket
  • Competency and knowledge in a variety of environmental and natural resource management techniques and methodologies including revegetation, weed control and herbicide application, both mechanical and manual.
  • Ability to take responsibility for ensuring own and team members physical and psychological wellbeing and safety.
  • Advanced indigenous and exotic flora species identification skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of safety and environmental hazards, risks and associated controls within a natural resource or waterway context.
  • People leadership and communication skills, with an ability to work in a team environment and proactively communicate clearly and effectively with a range of people.
  • Competent use and ability to teach others about safe operation of range of tools, equipment and small plant, ranging from hand tools to machinery.
