Our Water, Wetlands & Coastal Science branch is currently seeking to appoint enthusiastic Environmental Technicians to provide field, technical and logistic support to research projects undertaken within the Estuaries and Catchments Team. The work includes supporting ongoing field monitoring campaigns in coastal, estuarine and freshwater environments across NSW and includes regular travel.
The role also supports the team in project delivery including procurement, maintenance and calibration of instruments, field work, laboratory work, data collation and data base management.

We provide water environment data, technical expertise and strategic advice to help authorities and governments protect NSW waterways and manage coastal hazards. Our work provides safe swimming beaches for the community, and supports environmental water managers maintain healthy wetlands, catchment managers identify land-use pressures on estuaries and local government make decisions on coastal management.
Our services include: Waterway management research and remediation • Water pollution response advice • Waterway condition monitoring • NSW seabed and coastal mapping • Nearshore waves • Coastal hazard assessments • Coastal erosion modelling • Environmental water monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

As the Environmental Technician you will be the foundation of a high performing science and research team that works across multiple waterways environments aimed at building knowledge to inform management and policy decision.
