About the team
The Vector, Urban Pest and Biosecurity business unit is responsible for enhancing the Gold Coast way of life, by providing a wide range of pest management programs and services to protect our community and the natural environment.
About your new role
You will be responsible for:
- Implementing management programs for pests including general pests, mosquitoes, biting midge and/or fire ants.
- On-ground identification, surveillance and monitoring of pest insects mentioned above.
- Recording and mapping activities via infield computing.
- Providing technical advice to stakeholders.
- Developing excellent working relationships with staff, contractors, council service providers, community, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintaining plant and equipment.
- Implementing safe work practices, following City Council policies and procedures and legislative requirements.

To be successful in this role:
- You have proven ability to work productively and collaboratively in a team environment and you demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, written and communication skills.
- Pest management licence is desired however not mandatory.
- You pride yourself on your commitment to safety.
- You deliver high quality service to customers and understand and react responsively to customer expectations.
- You're able to utilise information, knowledge, and experience to implement pest management programs and you're capable of planning and organising yourself and others to ensure the fluency and timely completion of tasks.
- You are physically capable of working long hours in an outdoor environment.
