Salary etc:

Part-time or Full-time

Ecology Australia has been providing ecological consultancy services to the public and private sector throughout south-eastern Australia since 1978. We are one of the most highly regarded and longest-running ecological consultancies in Victoria, with a reputation for delivering high quality work with integrity and professionalism. Our team of experienced ecologists is dedicated to achieving positive environmental outcomes, with a strong focus on scientific principles and objectivity. Ecology Australia is not focused on 'development approvals' work and often bridges the gap between consultancy and applied research. Our team consists of experienced and dedicated ecologists and GIS analysts who work closely with clients to achieve positive environmental outcomes with ethical and professional integrity.

We are seeking a Project Delivery Coordinator to oversee company projects and optimise company resources to ensure efficient operations and successful project delivery. The Project Delivery Coordinator is a permanent ongoing part-time position with flexible hours and working arrangements, with the only requirement being that you work onsite in our Thomastown office every second Monday to attend our Team and Scheduling Meetings.

As our Project Delivery Coordinator, your exceptional ability to organise yourself and others, along with your strong project management experience, will ensure that budgets and deadlines are met, and client satisfaction is maintained. You will have an ecology background with at least 3 years’ experience in project management and/or consulting, and your excellent writing skills and keen eye for detail will ensure that our proposals and reports are produced to the highest standard. And if you would like to include consulting work in your schedule, we are open to increasing your hours to accommodate this. The Project Delivery Coordinator salary will be dependent on experience and whether you wish to include any consulting in your workload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assess scheduling and project demands, and allocate resources in accordance with workloads and revenue, ensuring capacity is maximised
  • Identify potential bottlenecks that may impact project timelines and deliverables
  • Monitor the progress of all company projects and advise the General Manager where budgets or timeframes are compromised
  • Oversee proposal and project entries and updates in our project management software
  • Contribute to proposal Go/No Go determinations, and assist with delegation of proposal writing and project management responsibilities
  • Manage quality control by ensuring all proposals and reports are reviewed and polished to a high standard ahead of submission

Selection Criteria:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management or a related role, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of resource planning and allocation, preferably in ecology consulting or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in using resource management software and tools to track, analyse and report on resource utilisation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess resource demands and optimise resource allocation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strategic perspective, with the ability to think proactively and implement resource management strategies that align with organisational goals.

What we can offer you:

Ecology Australia has certified Environmental, Quality and Safety management systems, and is proud to offer a flexible, supportive and enriching work environment, with a focus on employee development. We are a friendly team and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.

This is a permanent ongoing part-time position (0.4FTE to 0.6FTE), with the option of extending up to 1.0FTE (if consulting work is included). We are offering flexible work hours and days, with an ongoing commitment to career development through our generous professional development package. The salary package is negotiable and will be dependent on experience.
