The Position
The Coastal Councils Adaptation Taskforce (CCAT) is currently an alliance of five Queensland Councils that assist councils, and their communities collaborate on building coastal resilience and planning in light of climate change.
The C-CAT councils collaborate and provide support on each other’s coastal planning and Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy (CHAS) implementation. The C-CAT Officer reporting to the Manager Natural Environment and Sustainability (NES) and the C-CAT Executive will work collaboratively with the NES team and the other C-CAT Council teams to coordinate and deliver, funding, activities and information flow for ‘fit-for-purpose projects that suit a wide range of economic, environmental and social constraints.
About You
You have Tertiary qualification at advanced diploma/ degree level in a relevant discipline (Environmental or Applied Sciences) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an environmental management, climate change, strategic planning or coastal management related field. You have experience and the ability to advocate and negotiate favourable outcomes, partnerships, advocacy or policy.
You have project management experience and a high proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Additionally, you must have a ‘C’ class drivers’ licence.
