About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the beautiful Macedon Ranges to develop and implement policies, programs and projects to protect, monitor and enhance biodiversity. This position will play an important role in leading the review and refresh of Council’s Biodiversity Strategy whilst increasing community awareness of and connection to nature.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience in strategy and policy development and implementation of biodiversity-related projects. The position will suit those who have experience in local government and thrive on working with local communities.

Macedon Ranges Shire Council

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes. The shire has an estimated population of around 51,500 people and resides on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples. Industries providing local employment in the shire are health care and social assistance, education and training, retail trade, agriculture, forestry and fishing.
