As a Landscape Operations and Compliance Team Leader you will:

  • Support and manage staff to deliver against the Landscape SA Act 2019 and Board, State and Australian Government priorities related to invasive species and water management.
  • Develop positive and effective working relationships with key stakeholders and collaborators across the island, including community and volunteer groups, landholders, industry and business, non-government organisations, KI Council, Australian and State government agencies, including KI National Parks and Wildlife Service and Primary Industries and Regions SA.
  • Support land managers to better manage their legislative responsibilities relating to declared pest plants and animals as well as water resources through the provision of timely and informed advice, education and on-ground support.
  • Monitor invasive species and water program activities and ensure outcomes are in place to record and demonstrate program delivery and field data is captured and managed effectively.
  • Prioritise declared weed control in accordance to regional risk assessments and community input.
  • Support the feral pig eradication program to deliver the final stages of eradication.
  • Effectively administer the KI Water Affecting Activities Policy and support the water program.
  • Successful management and reporting of the Board’s domestic goat and pig permit systems.

About you

  • You can demonstrate experience and have a track record of managing and motivating your team with a focus on empowerment and continuous improvement.
  • You can demonstrate your experience in assimilating and interpreting large amounts of complex information from a number of sources, and are able to draw out themes, identify gaps and provide solutions.
  • You will be able to maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the issues and challenges relating to invasive species and water management practices in rural communities.
  • You will have experience in all aspects of project management including planning, procurement, contract management and managing budgets.
  • You have a tertiary qualification or equivalent level of experience in environmental science, natural resources management or similar (desirable).

  • Full time contract 2026 (37.5 hours per week) ASO6 Landscape Operations and Compliance Team Leader $98,478 - $104,165 per annum.
  • Term position to 30 June 2026 available immediately.

Requirements

  • National Police Check.
  • Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness to drive a 4WD is essential.
