The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority whose role is to work with and support natural resource management agencies, Traditional Owners and local communities to improve sustainable land use, biodiversity and water resources management extending from Ballarat south through the Western District Lakes and Victorian Volcanic Plains including Colac and Geelong, through the Otway Ranges to the coast along the Great Ocean Road.

About the opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our riparian and water infrastructure team to support the delivery of our riparian and water infrastructure initiatives that contribute to our Regional Waterway Strategy. As a Project Officer you will work as part of a team delivering a diverse program of works including riparian restoration, water infrastructure, flood recovery and the Riparian Works Review program.

The immediate priority for the role will be to support the riparian programs and a riparian works review.

The role is full time, permanent with a combination of office and field work. We offer flexible work arrangements and support working from home in combination with working from our main office in Colac. We also provide the option of working from Geelong for some of your time.  

This role will suit someone with some experience in waterway management, NRM or environmental space looking to dive in and grow in the role. Remuneration for the role is $69,124 - $80,231 per annum depending on experience plus superannuation.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in waterway management, ecology, conservation, natural resource management or environmental management and a relevant degree.
  • Project management knowledge, skills and implementation capabilities.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to positively engage and foster strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, members of the public and employees.
  • Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare professional business correspondence and reports with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve minor problems using your knowledge of NRM.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive organisation culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to model the CCMA’s Approach and the Victorian Public Sector values and behaviours.
