About the Role

The role of the Trainee Bush Regenerator, is to work in a team delivering conservation and land management projects on various natural environments in Western Sydney whilst undertaking study in Conservation and Land Management.

The position requires a good fitness level and suitability to undertake various heavy work requirements within the role such as brush cutting woody weeds, bending, lifting, standing and working in areas of thick bushland.

Bush regeneration works will include but not limited to:

  • Brush cutting.
  • Tree planting.
  • Weed removal and control.
  • Herbicide application.
  • Rubbish removal.
  • Seed Collection (when required).
  • Use of small plant and equipment.
  • Watering (when required).
  • Mulching (when required).
  • Working with school groups (when required).
  • The role can be challenging and repetitive but is extremely rewarding in providing ongoing environmental work.

Skills and experience

The following attributes are essential:

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • A willingness and ability to listen and follow instructions.
  • A interest in Natural environments
  • Applicant would need to be physically fit as heavy lifting is involved
  • Drivers License and or ability to get to and from work locations across Sydney
  • General construction induction card (white card)
  • Working with children's check (if over 18)
