This exciting new senior role has been created as part of Abzeco’s recent acquisition by the PF Olsen Group (https://au.pfolsen.com/) and will be pivotal in supporting the next stage of Abzeco’s evolution in Victoria and beyond.

Abzeco is an Eltham based ecological consulting practice with expertise in flora and fauna survey and monitoring, Bushfire Management Plans, Habitat Hectare Assessments, Biodiversity Assessment Reports, Land Management Plans, Commonwealth and Victorian offset site assessments and Offset Management Plans, ecological management and restoration, weed mapping, salvage and translocation of threatened flora and fauna species, design and implementation of pest control programs and expert environmental and conservation planning advice. Abzeco is also a registered native vegetation credit register Offset Broker.

The Abzeco team combines the knowledge and training of our botanists, zoologists, ecologists and GIS technicians with the technical and practical skills of our experienced qualified field crew.

To support the next stage of Abzeco’s journey, we’re appointing a suitably experienced professional as the Managing Consultant for the business.

The primary responsibility of this new role is to support and grow our collaborative consulting team so they can continue to deliver quality outcomes across a diverse range of client projects.

To do this effectively, you will;

• Support the development of successful proposals and tenders that leverages your expertise
• Support the development of successful proposals and tenders that leverages your expertise
• Oversee the assessment and allocation of new client projects across the consulting team
• Provide senior level peer reviews for client reports
• Provide direct senior support on complex projects
• Provide support for the consultant team with their professional development

To ensure this role is very well supported to succeed, PF Olsen provides a broad range of support services the Managing Consultant can engage as required that includes HR, payroll, finance & accounting, GIS services, compliance & certification, legal, proposal services and business development.

To be considered for this role you will have;

• Minimum of 15 years consulting experience across a broad range of projects
• The majority of your experience is from Victorian projects
• A strong knowledge of legislation including the Victorian Planning Provisions, FFG Act and EPBC Act
• Qualified, experienced Botanist/Ecologist
• Proven track record in supporting collaborative teams
• Genuine empathy for the consulting role that’s reflected in your supportive management style
• Excellent workflow management skills underpinned by your passion for client projects
• Strong commercial acumen that will support the fulfillment of Abzeco’s future growth plans
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills
• Excellent technical skills and experience

This exciting new role offers the successful candidate the unique opportunity to shape the future direction of Abzeco by working with and growing a passionate team of consultants who complete a broad range of interesting, challenging client projects. This role is available on a full-time basis and is based in Abzeco’s Eltham office with flexibility to regularly work from home.
