About the team
Our Climate, Adaptation, Land Sector and Opportunities (CALSO) Branch in the Climate Change and Sustainability Division is seeking to appoint a Project Officer - Programs to manage and deliver projects that help our government, communities and our environment adapt to the impacts of climate change.
The role sits within the Cultural and Ecosystem Adaptation (CEA) team which focuses on influencing policy, creating partnerships and seeding on-ground projects that drive cultural and ecosystem adaptation. It is meaningful work undertaken by a close-knit team with strong experience and expertise in ecology, Indigenous knowledge and biodiversity. We are passionate about bringing people together around the science of climate change, sharing and weaving western and Indigenous knowledge and supporting practical solutions for the benefit of local ecosystems and communities.

About You
We’re looking for a passionate individual who is keen to help ecosystems adapt to climate change, promote Aboriginal-led adaptation, and guide conservation efforts. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
You are a strong problem solver and communicator who can engage stakeholders and get buy-in around program objectives. You are collaborative in your project management and nurture partnerships to deliver quality outcomes and identify innovative opportunities/solutions. Preferably, you have experience with restoration and/or conservation projects but this is not essential.
