OzFish Unlimited is an exciting NGO dedicated to helping the millions of Aussie recreational fishers take action for the health of their waterways and shore up the future of the sport they love. OzFish Unlimited partners with fishers and the broader community to invest resources into the protection and restoration of our waterways, counteracting decades of degradation.

OzFish is seeking an energetic Project Manager for our national project operations team. The role is a working from home role, and includes regular travel around SA. The roles key focus is on developing, resourcing and delivering fisher engagement, habitat restoration projects and new collaborations with existing and future project partners across SA. Working with the OzFish team and numerous volunteer chapters based across the state, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring successful project delivery in a diverse range of fish habitat projects in the region, including logistics, fisher engagement, budgeting, reporting, stakeholder liaison, field work and events in SA.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand OzFish operations, designing and resourcing projects in the region including writing project briefs, applying for funding, approaching businesses and stakeholders for support and fundraising.
  • Engaging fishers and the broader community in OzFish activities, developing new Chapters and OzFish presence in SA including growing OzFish membership
  • Communication and promotion of OzFish activities, including social content, media releases, radio interviews, short video recordings
  • Administrative and Safety support for projects and Chapter activities
  • Expect regular travel with SA and some travel across Australia as necessary.

We are looking for an autonomous individual who is enthusiastic about fish habitat and aquatic environments who wants to make a positive difference. Key skills required include:

  1. Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Marine Science (or similar)
  2. Experience in project management, delivery, reporting and budgeting
  3. Experience scoping, developing and resourcing natural resource management projects
  4. Strong stakeholder liaison and communication skills
  5. Experience in engaging the community and managing volunteers in a number of roles such as developing and coordinating projects, materials, field days and events
  6. A positive, engaging and can-do attitude
  7. Willingness to travel, current drivers’ licence and suitable vehicle for travel

Strong candidates would also have the following non-essential qualities:

  • Established stakeholder network in SA as well as the ability to develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • Volunteering for environmental or community-based initiatives
  • Specifically aquatic/fish habitat restoration project experience
  • Connections to the local fishing community
