If so, AirSeed Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ecological Restoration Specialist to join our dynamic team and support our growth as a technology enabler for large-scale restoration of biodiversity. The Ecological Restoration Specialist is a key member of AirSeed’s upper management, reporting directly to the CEO. The right candidate will be a problem solver, business minded, curious, and be experienced in delivering biodiverse restoration  projects. 

As the restoration expert in the AirSeed team, you will lead the design and implementation of a wide range of restoration projects and provide subject matter expertise to the broader team, working closely with AirSeed's data science, carbon, engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams. In addition to practical delivery of restoration projects, you will be responsible for informing foundational decisions in AirSeed's software platform that are within your expertise. 

This role is based in Sydney, with offices in the CBD and Glenorie and part-time work from home options. Some overnight field work will be required, with opportunities for interstate and overseas travel. Fieldwork requirements are flexible and for the right candidate this role can accommodate someone who has limited capacity to travel away from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, collaborate on and deliver restoration projects with AirSeed's partners, including some of the biggest restoration practitioners in Australia; 
  • Work closely with commercial team members to prepare proposals and budgets for projects;
  • Establish, foster and maintain strong and informed relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, landholders, corporate groups, and local communities;
  • Work closely with engineering and data science team members to incorporate best practice restoration approaches into AirSeed’s software platform;
  • Represent the company at high profile events, conferences, and in news media. 

Desirable Attributes, Skills, and Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Science;
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale restoration projects in a variety of contexts, and ability to do so in collaboration with stakeholders and other team members;
  • Demonstrated high level planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership experience, managing a team or in a role where you were responsible for important business decisions;
  • Ability to communicate, present to and influence all levels of the organisation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly and constructively with stakeholders including landholders, project partners, corporates, and others.
