About your new role

We are looking for 2 x Team Leader Bush Regenerators to join our dynamic team and contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives with the City!

  • 1 x Permanent Full Time
  • 1 x Fixed Term Full Time ending July 2026

Supervise and implement restoration projects and works within the Natural Areas Conservation estate, utilising a range of approaches.

Key deliverables of the position:

  • Develop appropriate ecological restoration solutions on a suite of 10 to 15 high-value ecological restoration projects across a range of ecosystems.
  • Carry out ecological restoration works, primary and follow-up regimes that consider factors such as ecological succession, the role of fire and the inherent resilience of native vegetation.
  • Manage and supervise 2 Bush Regenerators
  • Organise and maintain fleet and plant for restoration operations
  • Assist with the capture and recording of information to assist with approved monitoring plans.
  • Develop/establish excellent working relationship with contractors, Council service providers (i.e. Rangers, Pest Management Unit, Catchment Management Unit), community, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide support to natural areas management programs including Councillor and Community requests, daily record sheets and attending site meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and sustainability of a high performing team regarding culture, professional development, and restoration outcomes.
  • Develop industry, through support of on-site training, advice, supporting networks and affiliations intra-extra Council.
  • Service a small nursery for the propagation of plants of local provenance
  • Support NaturallyGC program through facilitation and leadership of events i.e. Landcare or citizen science events.

We're looking for people who have:

  • Diploma Conservation and Land Management (or equivalent knowledge)
  • Diploma Leadership and Management (or equivalent knowledge)
  • Driver’s License Car C Class
  • ACDC Licence
  • Chainsaw Certificate
  • First Aid
  • 4WD experience
  • Able to work in remote locations
  • Physically fit
